Since his early photographic works, Axel Hütte has consistently focused on the confrontation between the city and the countryside. He shows the impact of urban architecture on the land, from suburban industrial areas and undeveloped land where factories have been built, to the long-cultivated landscapes of Tuscany. There, one can never escape the shadow of modern concrete functionalism that is eroding the landscape.
